The Role of Forgiveness
From the time we are born, through our childhood, and into adulthood, most people do not realize the ongoing role of forgiving. We perceive ourselves as being in some way a victim of other people's behaviors. We take personally that which is actually not personal to us. Consciously or unconsciously we store these energies in our minds and bodies.
We also say or do things we need to acknowledge may have been perceived as harmful to others. This too is stored in our body's energy field creating blockages that can limit our experience of optimal health and well being.
Since each of us is completely responsible for the quality of our own experience, where do we turn when life just isn't working as well as we wish it would? Well, we turn to ourselves. We get honest with ourselves as to what we have created. We rejoice at noticing everything we appreciate, and we go to work with the rest to transform it into a more wonderful experience.
This is where forgiveness becomes so very important. The process of forgiving is actually a way of life. It is your desire and ability to be fully present with and taking responsibility for everything you have said or done. You are also letting others off the hook for what you have perceived they have done that was hurtful to you. As stored anger, resentment, judgment, and negativity are released on an ongoing basis, space opens for more wonderful thought forms to emerge inside of you and be acted upon in the physical world. The result is an ever increasing desire to live in the openness and freedom of forgiveness. This now inspires you to make much healthier choices, such as food that is more optimal for sustaining your vitality, passion, and lifestyle.
There is an ancient Hawaiian process of forgiveness that really works and is so simple to do. Every night as you go to sleep and in the morning as you awake say, in your mind:
I'm sorry, I love you, forgive me, Thank you.
Repeat it many times.
Also during the day when something happens that you are upset about say it: I'm sorry, I love you, forgive me, Thank you. This is known as Ho'Opono Pono. Try it! What you glean from this can really feel wonderful. You can create some amazing experiences that would have otherwise never revealed themselves to you, including more optimal physical and emotional well being... all through the portal and action of forgiveness.
